I like the idea, favourites can get very long and messy and hard to find things when you want them. It was very easy to setup a delicious accound and I will be using it in the future. This whole experience of using the internet to socially connect with people is very interesting, but we should never loose sight of the fact that to speak to a person face to face is really the best way of doing things.

Well, I had another try at RSS feeds, was not happy or comfortable with what I did or how I understood it last week. I've had a play and am much more in tune with it. I can see a huge purpose in it. It really does bring to quickly to the information that is of interest to you. YES!

RSS Feeds - What a great time saver, keeps you uptodate without the hassle. Great for work and socially. I found it a bit confusing at first, but got the hang of it. I went into the Bayside Bulletin, Courier Mail & the Opal training blog. I was surprised how easy it was to subscribe.

Well, I've just find out about Social Networking. I like the idea. For libraries I can see that provides an avenue to impart information and receive feedback from patrons. I believe people will feel more a part of the library and what is happening. Long have the days gone by when the library was only used for taking books home, it provides so much more these days. From a personal point of view, I like being in touch with friends and sharing life experiences. I'm definitely going to pursue this, thanks.

Created a Wiki called "Camping of Straddie", I found it easy to set up and follow. I like the idea, we have just come back from a camping trip and found the organising a logistical nightmare. But by using a wiki it would have been far easier. I can see, from visiting the other sites recommended for viewing, that this can be of great value to libraries. By imparting up-to-date information for everyone to view and contribute to. These sessions have really opened my eyes as to what's out there. I don't believe information has been more readily available to people than it is today.

What a great idea! To have your photos and know you will never loose them. Have them readily accessible. Sounds great.

As I've said to my children, technology/computers is the way of the world. It doesn't matter industry you work in technology will be there and forever developing. As computers are doing in our everyday lives. My children have grown up with computers, but it is new to me. I want to know what is out there, what I can do, to see and experience what my children take for granted everyday. I am not a very good letter writter, but I can get in front of a computer and typed a few words without a problem. So blogging seems to be a good way to communicate. The older you get the more you think that it is not necessary to keep up with technology, but it interests and amazes me. Years ago when the internet first surfaced I couldn't see the point, but now, I am on it everyday. The the availabiltiy and speed of the information is terrific and up to date. This is actually the first blog I have seen or done, I can see the value in it and am quite interested in continuing this adventure. I can see that blogs would be invaluable for libraries and their patrons. Afterall, the idea is information sharing and this achieves that in more ways than can be imagined. I am quite sure if you have a hobby, interest or skill, the blog is a great way of sharing ideas and getting to know other people with similar interests.
